Description

This Buescher The Buescher Aristocrat True-Tone Alto Saxophone with Art Deco engraving is in great condition with 90% of the original lacquer and light wear across the horn. It has just come back from the shop where it was polished, cleaned and adjusted so it plays great. The pads are a mix of old and new; all of them are in good condition. There is a dent directly in the middle of the bottom bow.  The bow guard does not have any dents. The back thumb rest has been pushed in slightly and there are some light dents along the leg side of the bottom bow.  There is evidence of one or two key guards having some re-solder work done. It has telephone pole key guards, nearly all of its Buescher snap in resonators and the brown cellulose rollers.  The serial number is “285469” with the “True Tone” triangle and tuning fork along with the words “True-Tone Trademark Registered Low Pitch License Pat. Dec. 8, 1914” engraved beneath. This horn is a 1938 vintage horn made before the “400” model with a matching lacquered neck plug. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and goes down the entire bell. The lines on the engraving are very angular and geometric as compared to most other Buescher engravings which tend to be much more flowing. Near the top of the bell are the words “The Buescher Aristocrat Elkhart-IND.-U.S.A.” “Buescher” is engraved on the G# key. This horn comes with the original neck, which is still in great condition with no pull down and has almost no lacquer remaining.  It comes in the original “Buescher” case in older used condition. No mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has a rich vibrant sound along with great response and good intonation.
