This Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone 1960’s Serial #M95326 is in fantastic condition with 95-99% of the original lacquer and almost no player wear across the entire saxophone. It has just come from the shop where it was cleaned, adjusted and repadded so it not only looks amazing but plays amazing as well. There is some very minor light player wear on the palm keys and the octave key. Please see the photos for more details. This saxophone doesn’t have any dents, dings or evidence of major repairs.
The serial number is M.95326 making this a 1961-62 Vintage Tenor Saxophone. Above the serial number is engraved ” Made in France Brev. S.G.D.G. 920653 US PAT 2940640 US PAT 2710558 US PAT 2846917″. The engraving on the bell is gorgeous and super crisp. “Henri Selmer Paris” is engraved in laurel leaves and that “Selmer New York Elkhart London Made in France” with the R trademark sign. Scrolling leaves surround the engraving and go down and around the bell. This tenor saxophone comes with the original “H. Selmer Paris” neck in good condition and has no evidence of a pulldown. It also comes in a new Selmer case. No mouthpiece is included.
Selmer’s Balanced Actions, Super Balanced Actions and Mark VI’s are the Stradivarius of Saxophones. At the end of the day deciding which to buy is a little like picking between a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. It’s really a matter of preference. Check out the video below to hear this saxophone.
