This King Zephyr Series I Alto Saxophone with Art Deco Engraving 1930’s Serial #229856 is in mint condition with 90-95% of the original lacquer. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned, adjusted and completely re padded. There is evidence that a few dents were taken out of the bell, but currently there are no dents or dings on this horn. The serial number is “229856” making this a Zephyr Series I 1939-1940 vintage saxophone. The art deco engraving on the bell is gorgeous and super crisp. The engraving goes all the way down the bell and the words “King Zephyr Model made by The H.N. White Co Cleveland, Ohio.” are prominently displayed near the top of the bell. This horn comes with the original double socket/sleeve style neck, which is in great shape with no evidence of a pull down. It also has the triple neck ring, a signature of the King Zephyr models. It comes in a new replacement case, but no mouthpiece is included. This alto saxophone has that classic King Zephyr feel. It has a big, focused sound, excellent intonation, and superb overtones.
