Description

Conn 6A Victor Tri Tone Trumpet 1957 Serial #isi1615

This Conn 6A Victor trumpet is in very good condition with 85% of the original lacquer. There is some light, uneven wear across the horn but most of the wear is concentrated on the bow. Please see the pictures for more details. It has just come back from the shop where it was cleaned, adjusted and a few small dents were taken out of the bow and bell. There is no visible serial number on this trumpet. Instead, on the back of the bell, there is the engraving “6A Victor 1958 Model 9-16-57”. This suggests that the horn was made on September 16th, 1957 and then marketed the following year in 1958. Remember that the early model 6A Victors were only made through 1957 so there were not many more of these made after this particular horn. The engraving on the front of the bell is still crisp and reads “Conn U.S.A.” This trumpet has silver accents on the valve casing and tuning slides along with the original copper lead pipe. The coloring of this trumpet makes it a very flashy horn. Note that the early model Conn 6A Victor trumpet receivers were made for a cornet mouthpiece instead of a trumpet mouthpiece. No mouthpiece is included with this horn. It has a nice, warm tone with the powerful Conn sound and excellent intonation.
